SlowriseGentle wake-up & sleep insight

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 September 2026

Slowrise collects nothing. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics and no third-party SDKs. This page exists to explain exactly what the microphone does, because an app that listens overnight owes you a clear answer.

Short version

What the microphone is used for

The microphone is active only while Sleep Mode is running — that is, after you explicitly start an alarm with smart wake enabled, and until that alarm is stopped. It is never used at any other time.

While listening, each fragment of incoming audio is immediately reduced to two numbers: its loudness, and how often the waveform crosses zero (which distinguishes low-frequency snoring from the broadband rustle of bedding). The audio itself is then discarded and never written anywhere. What remains is a track of loudness values — a graph, not a recording.

Snoring clips

When the app detects snoring it saves a few seconds of audio so that you can hear it in the morning report. These clips:

Sleep data

The loudness track, the detected events, and the resulting sleep report are stored locally on your device and are also erased when the report is dismissed. Only one night is ever held at a time; no history is accumulated.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, health records, device identifiers, usage statistics, or crash reports. The app makes no network requests of any kind. Because we hold no data, there is nothing for us to sell, share, breach, or hand over.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone, regardless of age.

Your rights

Deleting the app removes every trace of its data from your device. Since nothing reaches us, there is no request to make for access, correction, or erasure of data held by us — we hold none. You can revoke microphone access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone; the ordinary alarm keeps working without it.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the revised version will be published on this page with a new date. Material changes affecting how audio is handled will also be described in the app's release notes.
